Fridays production.

 I finished two 15 x 15 art quilts today.
I am loving doing sunflowers.
They are so cheerful.
The Day lilies and cone flowers are not bad either.
What do you think of the crazy quilt backgrounds?
I have 4 more that need their flowers and 2
landscapes to finish.
I am glad I am finally getting the lead out.
My knee is feeling a little better.
After 6 months it should.
While now I just have 30 to go.
Back to creating tomorrow.

Background day

Yesterday I spent my time putting together 8 backgrounds.
I enjoyed using some of my scrapes and
preparing for some art quilts.
Two are landscapes and the other 6 are crazy squares.
The squares are perfect for my photos printed on fabric,
I think this will be enough of the squares.
Today I will work on finishing one of them.
It is colder than cold here.
Wish I could stay in but I have a Doctor appointment
that took 3 months to get so I will venture out.
Have a very bright and beautiful day.

Three of 35

Tuesday I finished the sunflower quilt and made
2 more small cone flower art quilts.
I love cone flowers they are so prolific.
I added some leaves to the sunflower to cover where
my seam did not catch and the backing showed through.
There is always a way to rescue a quilt.
I think today I will start a larger quilt.
Tired of working small.
It sure is cold here in the middle.
I envy those who live in the southern climes
this time of the year.
Maybe in 4 to 5 weeks we will see green again.

Sunflower

Monday I started this small sunflower quilt.
The vibrant Kaffee fabrics makes it rock.
This is just one of a series of 35 I need to make.
Something new for me using bright colors.
I have 2 more days to do nothing but play in the studio.
Have a great Tuesday.
I am off to the studio at 8 am.

Summer solo show

Yesterday I took the time to plan the art quilts for
my solo show in August. It is called CHAIRS.
Think relaxing in a lawn chair overlooking the
bluff onto Lake Michigan. Sitting under the shade
of a tree reading a book.
The show is all about relaxation.
Kicking back.
I printed several photos on fabric to incorporate
into small art quilts for the cash and carry crowd.
I am doing Open Studios at the International
Quilt Festival in Chicago in March and all of
what I did will play into that.
Photos onto Fabric quilted.
Quilting and Painting your quilt.
So I am ready for Chicago and as I make my
smalls for the solo show I will have my examples done.
I like it when a plan comes together.
