FALL IS HERE

I had a delightful time in Lafayette last
night. I took Brent to supper at Red Seven
and we both had chicken fettuccine.
Brent is a freshman at Purdue and getting
straight A's. It was nice to visit with him I
had not seen him since August.
Than the FibR meeting was nice. We talked
about a show proposal for 2015 that would
be more of a installation involving trees than
just a show. You would see bare trees entering
the gallery than they would progress to
trees full of flowers. Interesting concept.
I love meeting with fellow artist. The group
is very diverse and interesting.
I sit in my recliner and look out the back yard and
see the changing trees. The pond is getting low as it
does by the end of summer. Love the place I live in
so restful to enjoy quiet and serenity.
Have a great day.

Berries and fruit

The blue berries on the branch will be in one
of my quilt panels I will start in January. I love
berries and vines.
Today I head to Lafayette, Indiana for the monthly
FibR meeting. It will be good to see the gals
again. They are such a talented bunch of artist.

Last month I traded Anita one of her quilts for my
Central Park quilt which is one of my best.
It will be hard to turn it over to her tonight.
Funny how we get favorites until the next on we
make that surpasses it. Before the meeting I will
take my grandson Brent out for supper. He is
a freshman at Purdue. It will be nice to see
how he is doing and hear all the stories.
But first this morning I will start another landscape
quilt this time for Dana.
Andrew is also coming to switch out the exhaust
fan in the bathroom. So nice to have an electrician
in the family. Our Grand kids are such a help.

Post cards for Houston

Today I finally got back in the studio.
I made 15 pet post cards for the International
Quilt show. Hope Pokey likes them. All cats.
 This weather is just awesome.
Clear crisp and sunny.
Makes the living a joy.
Love the pines in the early morning.
Dew drips off of everything.
Doing 4 bushels of apples was too much but I
would rather get it over with quickly. Now we
have sauce and pies for another year.
I finally gave in and called for an appointment
for shots to my knees. Bummer he is busy
and I cannot get in until November 5th. I will
have to be very good and not do a lot to
make them worse.
I want to wait until next May to get the
replacement.  I got too many art quilts to do
this winter. Besides art is more fun.

Monday

4 bushels of Michigan apples in the freezer.
55 containers of applesauce and 10 bags of
apple pie filling. One very tired lady.
Thank goodness for my grandson Brad.
Between Brad, Bill and I we were done by 1:30.
So glad that is done for another year.
One way to get sugar free food is to make it.
I use a blend of Golden delicious, Cortland,
Jonagold, Macintosh, and gala. Great flavor.
The birds are filling the air we are on the migratory
path for the sand hill cranes, plus the Canadian
geese. Love the fall. The smell of apples fills
the house. A good day.
