In the still of the night.

A day to myself. I will finish the book I am reading.
Make myself a apple pancake I saw on Diners and Dives.
Just do nothing today.
Maybe venture into the studio.
The food is bought.
The presents wrapped.
The silver is washed and waiting.
I have cleaned everything.
Time to kick back.

Just a little snow.

Finally looking a little like Christmas.
My grand daughter said we needed snow  for Christmas.
She got her wish.
Jenna will help me get the last minute things
done for Christmas Monday. Set the tables.
Find a enough chairs and silver ware.
It will be nice to spend some one on one time.
I love Christmas I love sharing with others.
We are blessed with so much.
My thoughts go  out to the families that
were touched by the tragedy last week.
Lets keep them in our thoughts and prayers
during this season of celebration.

Over the river and through the woods.

Over the river and through the woods
to Grandma's house they will come on Tuesday.
Hopefully I will be ready.
I will double check everything today.
The menu, the stockings and the food.
The luxury of being done early.
I think I may go to the studio and play today.
Why wait until after Christmas.
With the weather we are supposed to have today
it will be good to stay home.
I had hot chocolate and bonquet for breakfast.
Bonquet is a dutch pasty made with almond paste
and a flaky buttery crust shaped into a tube.
Delicious.
First I must clean the kitchen it took a beating
yesterday. All the food packet are delivered or mailed.
Now just to straighten up and I will have
3 days to play.

Christmas is coming

So it begins, making cookies , peanut brittle, mailing
packages to family, cleaning and planning.
Christmas comes but once a year.
Monday I spent 2 hours in the dentist chair
and I have a new front tooth.
Yesterday I had a 2 hour massage.
Oh so nice.
I think I am almost human again.
I went to Walmart for some toys for
the great grand kids. They make pink Lego's.
How cool. Bought another load of groceries.
Today it is finishing up the food gifts and mailing
my sisters packet to Arkansas.
I told the post office I have one more
but that I had to bake some things.
He said there is a new rule any with food packages
there must be samples for the post office. :)
He must know I always bring them a platter of sweet stuff.
I am staring to plan art quilts in my head.
Colors slipping through my thoughts.
I have lots to do with 2 shows this next summer.
I am looking forward to getting back to creating.

Lines

This is the first task we did last week.
Lines
Floating lines.
Broken lines.
One line, two lines and 3 lines.
White on black and black on white.
Than arranged into a quilt.
I can see using these elements in future quilts.
I am off to the dentist today.
The first day of the class my front
tooth broke off. I did not dare go to a
dentist as I would have missed out on too
much and been left in the dust.
I said it was intense.

The FInal Project

I thought I would show you my final project
from my week long Nancy Crow workshop.
It is just pinned to the wall.
The work load of this workshop was intense.
I  got it cut out and pinned to my wall
but had no time to sew it.
So it came home with me to be finished
when I go back to the studio after Christmas.
I was so tired I slept 9 hours last night.
Plus took a nap after lunch.
I was really impressed by the work of my
fellow students.
Some very talented art quilters.
I have come to the realization that a 5 day
workshop is too much for me with my
health issues. In the future I will limit myself to
1 to 3 day workshop.
I did have trouble driving myself home
I had to stop every 20 to 30 minutes to
keep awake. BUT the important thing is
I did make it there and back
and survived the week with Nancy.
That woman has the energy of 3 women.
I learned a lot of  craft that will make
me a better art quilter in the long run.
I look forward to January through
the 1st of May when I get the most done in the studio.

Help

What can I do to add new photos to my postings .
I get a message that Picasa is full. I have lots of photos from
my Nancy Crow workshop and no way to share.
There must be some way to correct this
By the way I am worn out from the 5 days of class,
did a lot of good work and met some very great
quilt artist. My My there is a lot a talent in this world.
