Sunsetting in the west.

The end of the day brings a great sunset.
The day after Thanksgiving  is a relaxing day.
I sewed a new apron for Christmas.
Made some potholders.
Went for a drive to visit a fellow artist.
So nice to sit by the fire in her studio
and talk about art.
Her black lab nudging my legs for a cuddle.
The cat sleeping on the back of my chair.
Nothings better than that.
Except a fireplace in my studio.
Oh well can't have everything.

Back from Houston

Tommy Fitzsimmons posted a photo of our group quilt.
She just got it back from Houston.
I think it looked very nice.
Wishing everyone a blessed and peaceful Thanksgiving.

Love the fall colors of this small art quilt.
It seems that I always end up with leaves or trees
in my quilts.
I won't be able to do that in the Nancy Crow workshop.
Should be interesting what I turn out.
I need 3 more mornings to iron all the
fabric she requires.
I am so thankful that I bought the mangle.
It makes it so much easier.
Well I am off to the ironing.
Than a massage ofter 6 weeks away.
I will be sharing eggs today.
We get 2 dozen a day so everywhere I go
I bring a gift of fresh farm eggs.

Sand Hill Cranes

This is a lovely photo taken by Barb Lucas.
She takes awesome bird photos.
Sand Hill Cranes migrate through our area.
They spend a lot of time in the corn fields
gleaning food on their trip south.
We will see fields full of cranes all fall.
Yesterday the open house went well.
It gave the local people a chance to browse through
a artist studio. They were not bashful.
One fella went so far as to peek behind the drapes
 at my fabric stash.
Lots of questions about how do you do that.
I love to share my art.
People are fascinated by the process.
I love to visit with friends and watch
them pick out a favorite piece of art.
Lot of Christmas shopping happen.
Now a day of rest.
